Amanda Seyfried Is Engaged

It's like she has ESPN or something: Amanda Seyfried is engaged to actor Thomas Sadoski. (Um, I guess the "ESPN" would come in if she saw this coming, which I'm assuming she probably did.) The couple's reps confirmed the exciting news to Us Weekly just a week after the Mean Girls star was spotted wearing a ring on her left ring finger while walking her dog in New York City. While the actors' romance was confirmed in March of this year, and the two began dating while filming the upcoming comedy The Last Word, how did Seyfried and Sadoski actually meet in the first place?

The Last Word isn't the first project the two have done together: In fact, according to People, they first met in 2015 when they co-starred in the Off-Broadway drama The Way We Get By, in which they played lovers who had a one-night stand. Things didn't get romantic off-stage right away, however: At the time of the play in May 2015, Sadoski, 40, was in the process of splitting from his wife of eight years, Kimberly Hope. And Seyfried, 30, was still dating her longtime boyfriend Justin Long, though the two called it off a few months later in early fall. This, of course, all set the stage for sparks to fly when the actors reunited — and started dating — while filming The Last Word months later.

In the time since, the two have hit up numerous red carpets together, looking super happy and in love (just see how they look at each other, for real). And while their romance may seem fast — especially since it was just last year that the two split from their longtime loves — it seems like it's just the right pace for the happy couple, especially because Seyfried has expressed in the past how much she wants to become a mother.

"I need to get on it... I want a child, badly," she told Marie Claire UK last July. "I've been feeling it it for like, two years. I'm not ready, but nobody is ready."

While the two first have a wedding to plan, it seems like a baby will happen pretty soon after. Congratulations to the happy couple!
