Beyoncé's Backup Dancers Have A Perfect Proposal

by Jamie Primeau

Beyoncé holds many titles: singer, dancer, former Destiny's Child member, mother, wife, and more. She should probably add "Cupid" to that ever-growing list. During Saturday's concert in St. Louis, Beyoncé helped two of her backup dancers get engaged and it's the perfect proposal. According to Us Weekly, Bey performed "Single Ladies," which she hadn't done on the Formation tour since April. Then, she brought one of her backup dancers, John Silver, on stage. Silver grabbed the mic and began to address Ashley Everett, who is Bey's dance captain. After a sweet speech, he got down to business (and on one knee) and said,

"I know you think I don't express my love to you in front of everybody. So I feel like what better time than now to do it in front of a thousand people? So, Ashley Everett, will you marry me?"

The crowd cheered and then Beyoncé walked up behind the couple. They hugged and she joked, "Congratulations! Now let's see you do the choreography after that." Sure enough, Everett, Bey, and a few other dancers began busting out flawless "Single Ladies" choreography. Perhaps it was extra adrenaline from the romantic moment that just took place. Either way, their moves were on point. The proposal is all the more special, since St. Louis is Silver's hometown.

Heartwarming, huh? I can't be the only one who got chills. It's great to see Bey is a big believer in love. While you'd like to think singers are close with their backup dancers and singers, you never know if that's really the case. This shows that the "Formation" singer cares about the people she works with — especially since she took the time to make their engagement unforgettable.

While being Bey's backup dancer is probably one of the coolest careers, this easily goes down as one of the most amazing proposals. It's hard to top a serenade and well wishes from Beyoncé herself. Congrats to the couple! I wonder if she'll perform at their future wedding.
