#ByeMoney moments are becoming a common occurrence in the makeup world. The latest? Oh, just NARS Velvet Lip Glides, which the brand teased on its Instagram. NARS shared an artsy, leaves-you-wanting-more image of the caps, the brush applicators, and some of the color range. It was an effective strategy that elicited an instant, "OMG! These look luscious" reaction from me. The brand didn't reveal too much about this new product, other than to tell its devoted legion of NARSissists that this was the first look and to reveal the on-sale date. When can you buy the NARS Velvet Lip Glides and proceed to paint your pout?
According to the Instagram post, they will be available on Sept. 15. Are they going to be sold via the NARS site? A Sephora exclusive? What's the price, so you can plan and budget accordingly? Well, we don't know. When I searched the product on the brand's site, a note popped up, calling the VLGs "The New Vibe" and I was offered the opp to sign up for email updates.
Bustle reached out to NARS PR reps to ask for further details about the Velvet Lip Glides.
UPDATE: Bustle received the press materials about the Velvet Lip Glides, which are inspired by the '70s and its sexual revolution. They are available Sept. 15 at NARS boutiques and the brand's site and on Oct. 1 at Sephora, department stores, and specialty shops.
Did you gasp? You know you did. They look so lovely. I am dying for more intel about the texture and the product details. I also want to see the color spectrum. But I am already hooked from that sneak peek, since NARS lippies are always of primo quality.
UPDATE: These lippies are all about comfort, coverage, and color. According to the press release, a key ingredient is the NARS' Oil Infusion Complex, which allows product to glide effortlessly over your pucker without pull. NARS' VLGs have the movement of gloss with the coverage of lipstick.
