A Hunger Games Coloring Book Is Arriving This Fall

by K.W. Colyard

Rejoice, Tributes, because a Hunger Games coloring book is arriving this fall! The World of The Hunger Games: The Official Coloring Book contains 96 pages worth of Hunger Games-themed patterns and scenes from the four movies, including Katniss and Peeta's first Capitol entrance.

Based on Suzanne Collins' YA trilogy of the same name, The Hunger Games film franchise wrapped up in November 2015 with the fourth installment: Mockingjay Part 2 . But Tributes just haven't been able to get enough of the world of Panem.

It's difficult to overstate The Hunger Games' popularity. In 2012, Amazon revealed that Collins — who is also the author of The Underland Chronicles — was the bestselling Kindle author of all time, and that she had written 17 of the top 20 most-highlighted passages on the Kindle platform.

In 2013, Collins announced her plans to write a new YA series. Details are few, however, and Collins' last published title was her autobiographical picture book, The Year of the Jungle, which hit store shelves in 2013.

According to its Amazon listing, Scholastic's Hunger Games coloring book isn't aimed at an adult — or even teenage — audience. Despite all the violence and bloodshed brought on by Panem's barbaric tradition, The Hunger Games films have been relatively tame. Accordingly, The Hunger Games coloring book is intended for the 8- to 12-year-old set.

The World of The Hunger Games: The Official Coloring Book is available for pre-order now. Pick up the Hunger Games coloring book on Sep. 27 from your favorite retailer.
