AirPods Could Be Coming Soon To An iPhone Near You
Apple has a knack for releasing exciting new products just when you're ready for an update. Now, that new item, which is related to the upcoming iPhone 7, is referred to as "AirPods." So, big question: Exactly what are these AirPods? A report filed by Russian regulatory trademark filings suggests the latest Apple product could be wireless headphones — and you might just find them nestled in your new iPhone's box in the near future. Bustle reached out to Apple for confirmation on the AirPods, but the company declined to comment.
As reported by MacRumors, it seems as though the AirPods could be wireless earphones that can be used in lieu of a headphone jack for the upcoming iPhone model. It is not yet known whether, if the rumors are true, Apple will include these with each iPhone or sell them exclusively as separate accessories. To be clear: Nor is it certain that AirPods will even exist.
The iPhone 6 with a 5.5-inch screen is listed on the official Apple website as costing $649 if paid upfront, or costing a minimum of $27.05 a month if paying via a payment plan; the 4.7-inch display ranges from $22.88 a month to a minimum upfront payment of $549. Based on past years, it's fair to guess the iPhone 7 will be more expensive, and will featured new and innovative features certain to attract loyal Apple customers.
Apple fans wait in seriously long lines — the line in New York City for the iPhone 6S started a full 12 hours before the phones were even available, according to Syracuse.com. And these same fans could be among the first to have new product. They may be tempted to do the same for the new phone, as well as for the potential AirPods.
Certificates released by the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC) suggest that Apple will not only release wireless earphones but will also present new versions of the Apple Watch. As speculated by MacRumors, it is unlikely that a set of wireless earphones would be included with the iPhone 7, and Apple declined to comment to Bustle on whether or not they would be. Instead, expect the wireless AirPods to be sold separately.
For those who are eager to get their hands on the company's latest products, the wait won't be long, and will take place just after Labor Day weekend. The presentation for the new Apple products, which will happen in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Sept. 7, will likely be a highly anticipated event for tech and Apple fans alike. And at least by then it should become clear exactly what AirPods are.
