If you're anything like me, then there's no such thing as watching too many shows. However, if all shows were on at the same time, we'd never be able to do anything but watch TV. (Wait, that kind of describes my current life right now?) The point is, it'd be impossible to watch everything at the same time, which is why as new and old fall shows gear up to make their debut, it's time for all of our beloved summer shows to start wrapping things up. (It's the circle of TV life, my friends.) One such example of this bittersweet switch-up is The Fosters Season 4A finale airing on Monday night. Sure, it's going to be hard to say goodbye to all of that drama, but when The Fosters Season 4 returns for its second half of the season, it'll make the reunion all the more sweeter.
As for when exactly we can expect The Fosters to come back into our lives, I have both good and bad news. The bad news is that no official air date has been announced, so we're currently looking into an endless void of a Foster-less world. However, the good news is that it will most likely stick to its traditional schedule, which has been put in place ever since the show first debuted. Every year, the series wraps up the first part of its season in August and returns in full force in early or mid-January of the following year, which means we can expect Season 4B to come back into our lives probably no later than January 2017. It's not a guarantee, mind you, but it's the best we've got right now.
But that still leaves us with plenty of time on our hands to pursue other TV obsessions. So if you're looking for something else to help preoccupy your mind, I happen to have a few suggestions of where you can start...
Pretty Little Liars
You think your high school experience was hard? Try being tormented by a psycho stalker who goes by the name of A and threatens to expose all of your deepest, darkest secrets to the world. Rosewood can be a dangerous place, but you'll find yourself addicted right from the very first creepy text and life as you know it will never be the sAme.
Finding Carter
Adjusting to a new family is hard, especially when you find out that the woman you thought was your mother was actually you're kidnapper. Carter's journey of getting reacquainted with her biological family certainly isn't easy, but it makes for a truly compelling story that will leave you hooked until the very end (and make you very upset that the series was cancelled after only two seasons).
Parenthood
When it comes to truly epic TV families, the Bravermans are easily one of the most lovable out there. From cancer scares to living room dance parties, this group has been through everything together and definitely deserve your time and attention. Just make sure to have a box of tissues at the ready at all times.
Gilmore Girls
Because you haven't truly experienced TV mom greatness until you've been introduced to the one and only Lorelai Gilmore. Where she leads, you will always want to follow.
Teen Wolf
It's the drama of high school and the stress of the supernatural all rolled into one. Honestly, what's not to love about that?
The Vampire Diaries
Mystic Falls may be a dangerous place to live, but it also houses some of the most fang-tastic characters you ever come across. (See what I did there?) This vampire teen angst — complete with complicated love triangles — will leave you thirsty for more.
So sit back, relax, and let your Fosters' woes fade away. Because nothing helps take your mind off one obsession better than by starting another one to take its place.
