You can never have too many Lip Kits! When Kylie Jenner revealed her new trio of Lip Kits, which arrive on Friday, Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT, I initially thought that the Brown Sugar Lip Kit looked super similar to the OG Dolce K Lip Kit, which is a deep beige nude. Jenner commented that she designed the Brown Sugar Lip Kit to be the perfect nude for darker skintones and it does look positively lit when paired with dark skin. But it also looks gorge on fair skintones. Still, when peeping a variety of different swatches and Snapchat and Instagram photos of Brown Sugar, I often found myself thinking it looked a lot like Dolce K. That is likely due to lighting and filters.
Jenner swatched Brown Sugar and True Brown K Lip Kit side-by-side on Snapchat and that showed the colors to be sister shades in the same color family. It really showed the differences between the hues. So when she swatched Brown Sugar against Dolce K on her Instagram, I was able to see the appreciable differences between the two shades.
Ready to compare and contrast Brown Sugar and Dolce K? It's as though Jenner took inspo from herself when creating Brown Sugar. It's like Dolce was her initial inspo and she created a new shade based on a prior one!
Here's the swatch of Ginger, Brown Sugar, and Dolce. Ginger also highlights the contrast between the other two. You can see that Dolce has more of a pinkish tone to it, where as Brown Sugar is much more brown x beige. Again, you have to consider the lighting. But this swatch shot displays the differences.

It's certainly beautiful on darker skin. I mean, stunning!
Jenner's latest Lip Kits fit right in with her other neutrals, nudes, and purple. They are similar, but unique. They are like updates and new takes on existing shades. Kinda like sisters in a family. Like Kardashians and Jenners.
