So, Lupita IS Dating A Famous Musician

To anyone out there who has been rooting for a Lupita Nyong'o and Jared Leto relationship, you can kiss your hopes away, because Nyong'o already has a man in her life. Lupita Nyong'o is dating rapper K'Naan, according to reports, and has been since September 2013. K'Naan, real name Keinan Abdi Warsame, is a Somalian rapper who is most widely known for his song "Wavin' Flag" which was used during promotions for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. (You know this song. Even if you think you don't, you do.)

According to a friend of K'Naan who spoke with Us Weekly, "She loves his humanitarianism. They'd [sic] both passionate about African issues." The source added that Nyong'o and K'Naan are taking it slow and that she hasn't met his two children from a previous marriage.

Nyong'o and K'Naan were seen hugging as the actress was leaving the set of Live! With Kelly and Michael the Monday following her Academy Award win. More telling than the hug, K'Naan held her Oscar and you have to really trust someone to let them near your Oscar! I would think. I'm not talking from first hand experience here.

I suspected that Nyong'o was good at keeping relationships a secret after she and Leto messed with our minds with their jokes and their being really good at acting and their cute Instagram pictures, but now I think that's she's not keeping anything a secret at all. Her relationship with K'Naan doesn't have to be a secret for the whole world to not know about it. That just means that she isn't calling the paparazzi on herself or making out in the middle of Sunset Boulevard. If you see her hugging her boo in the street, that's fine, but don't expect her to talk about him to tabloids or cease posting selfies with Jared Leto. She's keeping her (alleged) relationship normal and that's the best way to go about it. And if they aren't actually together, well, she's playing that cool too.
