Juan Pablo is supposed to be making the very adult decision to get married during this Bachelor finale. Unfortunately it seems that in this episode he has reverted back to an adolescent boy who is not at all ready to commit to either Nikki or Clare. Here are 7 times he was basically a tween during tonight's episode.
1. HE BASICALLY STILL WANTS TO BE SINGLE
Nikki and Juan Pablo chat about life after the show and he says something about getting to have some alone time away from the cameras. "Not all of the time," Nikki says, clearly upset that what he's looking forward to most after leaving the show is being alone rather than being with the one he just got engaged to. "But some of the time," Juan Pablo forcefully insists in hopes of getting Nikki to slow down her rationality train.
2. HE REALLY REALLY STILL WANTS TO BE SINGLE
Teenagers aren't ready for marriage and neither is JP. He had a similar conversation with Clare about the aloneness after the show saying they'd get a break and a chance to say goodbye. Clare insists it's not a goodbye, but that it's more of a "see you soon," kind of thing which JP casually ignores while maintaining his "it's a break" attitude. I hope he knows that if he proposes to one of these women they're going to be in his life? Like alone time is over? You're not a bachelor anymore?
3. WHAT HE SAID IN THE HELICOPTER
Young boys are the kings of inappropriate sexual comments. From what it sounds like went down with Clare in the helicopter, JP is no different.
4. HE'S JUST IN THIS FOR THE KISSING
Clare called Juan Pablo over to her room to have a serious discussion about the terrible thing he said in the helicopter and two seconds after walking in the door he's like, "Can I have a besito? Besitos?" And he says it in this really whiny voice like how dare Clare want to have a goddamn adult conversation before she signs up to be your wife.
5. ASK HIM TO NAME WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT TO HIM AND HE SAYS "BED" FIRST
Nikki wants to know what's in their future after they leave a life of private islands behind with the show. Juan Pablo says, "my bed." Like for real. Way to be subtle. I wonder what's on that pre-teen mind of his. (Sex, it's sex.)
6. NOTHING IS HIS FAULT OBVI
Clare tries to talk to Juan Pablo about said helicopter situation and he tries to get out of the blame saying that she broke their kissing-only rule by having maybe-sex in the ocean. "Don't blame me," he says. Guess what JP, you're not 12, sometimes it is your bad and you need to own up to it.
7. HE IS NOT CAPABLE OF BEING SENSITIVE
After dumping Clare she got (understandably) upset and said he wasn't the guy she thought he was. His response? Nonchalantly saying "I'm glad I didn't pick her" instead of having actual feelings for a second and thinking about how Clare must feel. Ay yai yai.
