The 'Scream Queens' Season 2 Teaser Is So Fierce
You can take the girls out of the sorority, but you can't take the sorority out of the girls, as the new teaser trailer for Season 2 of Scream Queens eagerly showcases. With the location changing from the college campus sorority house of Season 1 to the more stark setting of a hospital in Season 2, fans may have been worried that The Chanels would have been forced to tone down their bold personalities for such a work placement. But, fear not, Scream Queens fans, because as the teaser trailer shows, the location may have changed but the badass attitude and supreme style of The Chanels in Scream Queens certainly hasn't.
With a bend-and-snap worthy tagline, "Putting the Mad Diva in M.D.," it's clear that The Chanels will be just as fierce, b*tchy, and fabulous as they were in Season 1. Which, if you remember, was kind of something which also led to a whole lot of murders happening. Still, their sassy walk through the hospital hallways also seems to be brimming with confident defiance. Perhaps they're more prepared to take on a killer in Season 2? Or maybe that strut of determination is simply their way of trying to assert their complete and utter power over the hospital?
During the Scream Queens panel at Comic-Con, it was revealed that The Chanels are convicts-turned-medical-students with Emma Roberts stating, "The Chanels (post-prison) are trying to remain glamorous despite the fact that they’re broke and have to work." Considering that it clearly sounds as though the main priorities of the ladies remains being simply "glamorous" above and beyond everything else, it sounds like the self-obsessions of the gang could even lead to many more deaths within the hospital as a possible result of their total uncaring negligence.
With the addition of some supremely easy on the eyes cast members such as Taylor Lautner, Colton Haynes and John Stamos joining the Scream Queens cast of medical staff for the second season, it's also easy to imagine that The Chanels may be ever so slightly too distracted to even do their jobs properly. After all, if your main objective for working in a hospital is to simply get paid and look cute while you do it, then picking up cute guys may also top the list way above actually, you know, saving lives. As Season 1 hilariously proved, The Chanels are much more invested in saving their own wealth, glamour and status than they are saving actual people.
Along with the new story location and the fact that there's an all new Scream Queens killer confirmed for Season 2, it's definitely comforting to know that The Chanels are going to be just as mean-spirited, shallow, and heartless as they were in Season 1. I mean, who could imagine The Chanels fighting off whoever or whatever the new killer will be without their trademark killer style and cutting wit giving them a winning edge in their battle against them?
We'll just have to wait until the second season of Scream Queens premieres on September 20, however, to see how Chanel Oberlin, Chanel #3 and Chanel #5 survive their time working in a hospital, and indeed, surviving an actual killer. Though something tells me their sass alone will remain ferocious enough to defeat just about anyone.
