Want To Make "Harry Potter Go" Happen? Sign This

by K.W. Colyard

Potterheads' wishes may be well on their way to becoming reality with the unveiling of a "Harry Potter Go" petition on thepetitionsite.com. Titled "Accio Harry Potter Go," the petition addresses Warner Bros. and "Pokemon Go" developer Niantic to request "a Harry Potter augmented reality game, [in which] you could cast spells in real life." Seriously, who else looked into the Mirror of Erised and saw this?

With the ever-rising popularity of "Pokemon Go," Potterheads wasted no time in calling for a Harry Potter version of the app, one that would allow players to find magical creatures, learn new spells, and duel with friends and enemies alike. "Accio Harry Potter Go" recognizes the wealth of possibilities. From the petition:

In honor of the new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you could search for magical creatures, like hippogriffs, and dragons, and goblins, and acromantulas. Follow the spiders Ron. The app could be a fantastic (pun intended) promotion for the movie.
With Harry Potter Go, you could search for the seven Horcruxes, and then for swords, and basilisk fangs to destroy them. Someone get a Time-Turner and make this game yesterday!

The "Harry Potter Go" petition comes complete with a hashtag, #WeNeedHarryPotterGO, which is already picking up steam on Twitter. Head on over to thepetitionsite.com to add your name. Be sure to share your ideas for the app on your favorite social networks, using the #WeNeedHarryPotterGO hashtag.
