When Will Liam Payne's Solo Music Be Released?

Since news of One Direction's indefinite hiatus devastated fans worldwide, the boy band members have gradually been signing solo deals. Zayn Malik might have been the first to record his album, but he's no longer the only former 1D member with a recording contract. On June 23, 2016, it was reported that Harry Styles had signed a contract with Columbia Records, and now Liam Payne has made his own solo career imminent by taking to Twitter to announce his new record deal. In a tweet posted on July 21, Payne said, "Happy to have signed to @CapitolUK. They have an amazing history of artists, I hope I can follow in their footsteps." This is obviously amazing news for One Direction fans everywhere, but when will Liam Payne's solo music come out?

While there's no release date set for Liam Payne's solo album as yet, it looks as though he could beat the other members of One Direction, and be the first to release new music. Departed 1D member Zayn Malik has had a lot of success since he released his debut album Mind of Mine , so it seems likely that the remaining members of the band will be just as successful. But why must we wait so long?

Back in January, Liam Payne gave the world a clue that he would soon be going solo, when he shared a snippet of music on Instagram. In his caption on the video clip he said, "Little Song I wrote for fun yesterday," and that clip has so far had over 2.3 million views. If that's any indication as to how many people are waiting to hear new music from Payne, it seems as though his album will just as anticipated as Zayn Malik's was.

However, not all 1D fans were happy about Payne's announcement on Thursday. According to Hollywood Life, "Twitter users everywhere sent social media on fire with angry tweets, even some demanding to explain his decision." The main thing is, Liam Payne seems extremely excited about signing with Capitol, and hopefully it won't be too long before we hear new music from the singer.
