The Republicans went to Cleveland — and the porn went with them. The Daily Dot reports that during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, their porn usage reached an all-time high on adult site xHamster. According to the Daily Dot: "The increase in Cleveland porn traffic during the Republican National Convention is allegedly 184 percent higher than usual, xHamster reports. Cleveland is making history in all sorts of ways, shattering its previous record for porn viewership while topping out at 873,294 views."
And — wait for it, not only did Donald Trump take the nomination, he got a much greater and (if possible) more horrifying honor: Trump was trending as a porn search term. People were looking for Trump porn. I can't tell if that's more or less disturbing than making him the presidential nominee, but there it is. It's there, and it's not going anywhere.
Pornhub, who saw an 4.2 percent increase in traffic from the Cleveland area between July 18 to 21, found that most of their traffic came from mobile — which indicates that these were visitors to the area. But what were these Republicans searching for when they're getting own and dirty?
According to Pornhub insights, searches containing the word "trump" increased by 648 percent and visits to Pornhub’s gay site increased by nearly 8 percent. Take a look at the graph below for the most popular search terms:
