JLaw Gives Shailene Woodley Career Advice
If you can rack your brain and remember all the way back to early 2012 (I know, it's hard), you may recall that a young and decidedly still unknown Jennifer Lawrence exclaimed that she almost passed on The Hunger Games . Lawrence was so terrified of the Kristen Stewart-like fame that Twilight brought, that she didn't give a definitive yes or no to portraying new age heroine Katniss Everdeen until two days later. Thankfully, JLaw's mom called her out on her stuff and told her to stop being such a stinking hypocrite! If JLaw declared she'd never judge a film on it's size, her mom egged her on and asked, why should The Hunger Games be any different?
I think we all owe a heartfelt thank you, to Mrs. Lawrence. Say it with me: Thank you, Mrs. Lawrence!
Seems like these days, the American Hustle actress is imparting her mother's wisdom on her equally as stupefied peers. Shailene Woodley came to a similar turning point in her career when considering taking on the monster series that is Divergent. She turned to the 23 year old Academy Award winner for her advice. Woodley revealed that Lawrence insisted she take the part through an email, saying, "You must do it. You will not regret it for a second. Yes, there are some hard things, but there are so many beautiful things that will come from an opportunity like this." Oh JLaw, you are so wise and helpful. We're glad that Woodley listened to Lawrence because, well, if her success is any indication, perhaps Woodley could be looking at an Oscar and half a dozen movies co-staring with Bradley Cooper in her future. Not too shabby of career, I'd say.
