15 Male Celebrities Rocking The Color Pink
"I even had the pink Polo, I thought I was Kanye," rapped Kanye West in his iconic single "I Love Kanye." What Mr. West was referring to was seemingly the era in the mid-2000s when male celebrities wearing pink were a pretty common occurrence. West rocked an iconic pink Polo shirt frequently, exhibiting an "anything goes" attitude when it came to style that has seemingly dissipated from the mainstream since. While it lasted, however, this included a hell of a lot of guys rocking pink hues.
It's not as if this color choice for men has totally disappeared from our timelines, but as more and more people embrace all-black everything as the ultimate in chic clothing, it's less likely for us to catch sight of colors like pink appearing on anyone, let alone on our male celebs.
Personally, I hope for the return of the color's presence in fashion. Will Kylie Jenner ever own a color in the way Paris Hilton owned pink? Will Kanye rock that pink Ralph Lauren Polo again? I don't know for sure. But I can sure hope so.
As for right now, please join me on a little trip. Let us gaze at the male celebrities who have been, and remain, just a little bit more accepting of Barbie-like shades.
1. Kanye West
In arguably one of the best music videos that has ever existed, West rocked a pink shirt while fighting with Pamela Anderson in "Touch The Sky." It may not be a pink Polo, but to any Kanye West fan, this pink look is likely just as iconic.
2. Drake
This picture only entered my life recently and it's been my phone background ever since. Drake proves that pink is far from "just for girls," and I'm wondering where I can cop a pair of those pink-tinted sunglasses.
3. James Franco
My infatuation with James Franco from his Freaks And Geeks days has been over for years, but the man definitely looked pretty in pink in this shirt.
4. Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt's pale pink suit gives me ultimate Great Gatsby vibes. From a practical point of view, this suit will also keep a man cooler than a black one on a hot summer's day.
5. Lil Wayne
Ignore the caption for a moment, please. A hot pink sweatsuit may sound like it belongs to Britney Spears, but Lil Wayne looked killer in his pink "know yourself" two-piece.
6. Daniel Radcliffe
Check out Daniel Radcliffe happily sporting pink at a Harry Potter film premiere. The color added so much more flair and fun to the actor's outfit, especially compared to Rupert Grint's simple black and white threads.
7. Jamie Foxx
Another super delicate pink was seen here on Jamie Foxx, but it was a pink that worked beautifully with the neutral tones of his outfit.
8. Justin Bieber
Here's an itsy bitsy, baby Justin Bieber pairing pink with leather for a more casual take on the pink shirt.
9. Bruno Mars
Here Bruno Mars and his whole squad rocked pink suit jackets in a fun '50s look that proved that men should be less serious with their wardrobes.
10. Pharrell
A hoodie is the perfect way to dress down the color pink, and Pharrell wears it better than most.
11. Ashton Kutcher
On the flip side, Ashton Kutcher proved that you can totally turn your pink shirt into a more casual look by losing the tie and donning a baseball cap.
12. Jeremy Scott
Designer Jeremy Scott doesn't shy away from bold prints or bright colors in his work or in his wardrobe.
13. Kanye West (Again)
Kanye West had to appear on this list a second time because this outfit was just early '00s perfection. But also, because West genuinely loves the color pink. As he once said:
Society has put up so many boundaries, so many limitations on what’s right and wrong that it’s almost impossible to get a pure thought out. It’s like a little kid, a little boy, looking at colors, and no one told him what colors are good, before somebody tells you you shouldn’t like pink because that’s for girls, or you’d instantly become a gay 2-year-old. Why would anyone pick blue over pink? Pink is obviously a better color. Everyone’s born confident, and everything’s taken away from you.
14. Tom Cruise
Highlight your pink shirt with a matching pink tie as Tom Cruise did here to make your black suit feel a little less boring.
15. John Legend
More men need to wear pink suits, IMO. Repeat after me: More men need to wear pink suits. There's nothing about this look that I don't adore.
On the off chance that a male celebrity ever reads my humble list, please start wearing pink more. As Kanye West said, it's truly the superior hue.
