'iZombie' Season 2 Needs To Come To Netflix ASAP

by Kelly Schremph

Waiting for your favorite TV shows to hit Netflix can feel like a daunting task. That's because the service likes to torture its users by forcing them to wait until a new season of that show is about to debut before allowing them to relive the excitement of the prior season. (Not cool, Netflix. Not cool at all.) And even though the new deal struck between The CW and Netflix will allow seasons to start streaming eight days following each show's finale, that won't be set into motion until the 2016-17 broadcast season, meaning we still have to wait and wonder when shows like iZombie Season 2 will hit Netflix in the coming year. Update: Netflix has announced that iZombie Season 2 will begin streaming on Oct. 6.

Earlier: Now normally, in order to figure out answers to the future, it's helpful to look to the past for clues. So the fact that first season of iZombie premiered on Netflix the same week its second season premiered could indicate that the streaming service will repeat the process this time around as well. However, there's one major difference between this year and last year: iZombie Season 3 is scheduled to debut in the midseason line-up rather than in October, so it's possible Netflix will hold off releasing the Season 2 episodes until they're closer to that season premiere date.

Either way, though, I think we can all agree that iZombie's second season was a pretty great time and deserves to be rewatched in its entirety. But just in case you don't have time to watch all of the episodes when they make their Netflix debut, here are the absolute must-see ones that are definitely worth your time.

Episode 1 — "Grumpy Old Liv"

Not only do we get to see the repercussions of Liv deciding to cure Blaine and Major, but it's also the introduction to Major's zombie killing story arc after Vaughn threatens Liv's life.

Episode 5 — "Love & Basketball"

Watching Major coach a children's basketball team is adorable, but really it's watching him and Liv get close again that makes this episode truly special. No matter what I will always root for these two crazy kids to figure things out and get that happily ever after they deserve.

Episode 9 — "Cape Town"

Sure, it's depressing that Liv and Major break up (yet again), but viewers also learn a vital piece of information when Ravi discovers that his cured rat turned back into a zombie, meaning Blaine and Major will likely follow suit.

Episode 14 — "Eternal Sunshine of the Caffeinated Mind"

A lot of twists go down in this episode. Blaine is killed by Mr. Boss only to be resurrected as a zombie once more and Liv discovers that her roommate Gilda is the "Rita" Major had been sleeping with. Scandalous!

Episode 18 — "Dead Beat"

After being ratted out as the Chaos Killer, Major struggles to keep his zombie urges under control while Liv struggles to find a way to get him brains in time before he completely turns. This forces her to finally admit to Babineaux about what she really is, which is something that's always been a long time in the making.

Episode 19 — "Salivation Army"

This action-packed episode is equal amounts thrilling and heartbreaking as the downfall of Max Rager reaches a turning point and Liv's love life takes a severe hit. (RIP Drake.)

Here's hoping Season 3 will have as many must-see moments as its predecessor.
