You Should Watch 'The Tonight Show' Tonight

Update: The "Let It Go" with classroom instruments performance did happen, and was even better than we could've imagined. Watch it in full below.

There is a rumor currently going around Tumblr that is so exciting, it's impossible not to get your hopes up. Following Frozen's two wins and an impressive performance at the Oscars, Idina Menzel might perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, tonight. Oh, it gets better. She might be performing "Let It Go" with The Roots, using classroom instruments, a recurring sketch from Late Night.

On Monday evening, the Tumblr cockenblog (a very unfortunate title) made a post saying "Hi yes okay just letting you know that tonight on the show, Idina Menzel is doing a cover “Let It Go” with the Roots, Jimmy, and classroom instruments." Why do we trust this mysterious cockenblog? Because according to her Tumblr, she used to work for College Humor and now works for The Tonight Show. And with a little cross-referencing, it's easy to make the leap that the cockenblog Tumblr belongs to Marina Rachael, The Tonight Show's head blogger.

So if Rachael is right about this, you are not going to want to miss tonight's episode. According to the show's website, the planned guests are Tina Fey and Randy Newman, so Menzel's performance (likely pre-recorded) is meant to be a surprise. Fallon's previous classroom instruments sketches have been great, with the standout being Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe."

So if The Roots and a xylophone can make "Call Me Maybe" appealing, just imagine what they'll do for "Let It Go." Officially freaking out—like emotions strong enough to freeze a kingdom freaking out. Bless you Jimmy Fallon, bless you.
