After much speculation and a lot of rumors, it looks like it's official. According to E! News, Ciara and Russell Wilson are married. The two reportedly tied the knot at the Peckforton Castle in Liverpool, England in front of family and friends. News of their nuptials first spread after July 4, with reports of the two hosting a rehearsal dinner on July 5 across the pond. It sure seems legit, so I guess congrats are in order for the happy couple. Update: Ciara and Wilson both shared a pic of their wedding on Instagram. See below.
Earlier: According to TMZ, they invited around 100 guests, who were also instructed to hand over their cellphones during the wedding. Apparently, Ciara and Wilson wanted to keep things extra private and not have anything leak onto social media. TMZ also reported that those invited met at a "central location" and were then transported to the mystery wedding location. If true, they definitely took this whole privacy thing seriously.
However, it looks like Jennifer Hudson, who E! News reports was invited, captured the moments leading up to the actual ceremony. Her Instagram is filled with a lot of photos in her beautiful gown. She also took her son and husband as her dates, which is adorable. According to E!, Serena Williams was set to be a bridesmaid, but had to back out due to her Wimbledon semi-finals match. As for other famous faces, Kelly Rowland and Lala Vasquez were also reportedly attending.
Wilson and Ciara have yet to officially comment, but based on a July 5 tweet from Wilson, it seems like he couldn't be happier at this time in his life.
They first made headlines as a couple in April 2015, but pretty much solidified it when Ciara and Wilson attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner together. At the time of their outing, there was no denying the chemistry between them. Then, in March 2016, the singer and NFL star got engaged. Wilson posted a video on Instagram after his proposal with a very excited Ciara. Alongside the IG, he wrote, "She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling... #TrueLove."
Basically, these two don't slow down when it comes to happiness and love. Congrats to both of them!
