Because of an impromptu decision, Chrissy Teigen now has a special moment with her daughter on film. The Sports Illustrated model appears in Fergie's "M.I.L.F. $" video along with her baby Luna. Over the holiday weekend, Teigen shared the story behind her cameo in an interview with People. It shows how spontaneous and go-with-the-flow this new mom is — and in many ways, it's a great attitude to have as a parent. She told the magazine, "Kim [Kardashian] texted me, 'Hey, Fergie is shooting a video,' and [she] said, 'You should be in it.'" Teigen's response? "Absolutely, Kim, what days are you shooting? I’m in.' It was so much fun to do. I love Fergie. I love her music. And it was just really nice."
In case anyone forgot, Kim Kardashian and Teigen's friendship is pretty strong. Kardashian threw her a baby shower back in March. In May, she met baby Luna and Teigen called her Auntie Kim. Now they're starring in a music video together. Plus, it's great that Kardashian could easily sway her to participate. Because she chose to do so, Teigen breastfed Luna on camera. She told People, "It was [like], ‘[Luna’s] here, and it’s 'MILF Money' — I would love to capture this moment with her. I think it’s beautiful." She's right — it's certainly a sweet moment to include in the video.
Sure, "sweet" may not be the adjective that comes to mind when describing the overall video, but in many ways, it serves as an anthem where these celebrity mothers don't let the fact that they're parents take away from their confidence or their sexuality. The "M.I.L.F. $" lyrics may be a bit confusing, but the video certainly exudes confidence in motherhood and shows that their lives don't have to be boring, just because they had children.
Even though it's 2016, moms sometimes still get shamed for breastfeeding in public. In reality, it's a natural part of not only motherhood, but human existence. So props to Teigen for not hiding that from the camera. Her comments imply that wasn't the original plan, but it was Luna's normal feeding time anyways and everything fell into place. And the rest is history.
