Don't Worry People, She's Sticking Around
Harvey Weinstein recently said that Jennifer Lawrence would be taking a break from acting for a year, but even if Hollywood's top producer says something is so, that doesn't mean it's true. At Sunday night's Oscars, Jennifer Lawrence denied hiatus rumors in a red carpet interview with MTV. After describing how she was more hungry than nervous (and possibly hiding a Slim Jim on her person), Lawrence said, "That's just Harvey, like, being an idiot. He's not being an idiot, I don't know. I would like to take a year off, that would be a dream... I'd like to, if I could. Probably won't be able to."
Weinstein said of Lawrence about a week before Oscar night, "She’s going to have a long break for a year where she won’t do anything. It’s been non-stop for her and she deserves a rest." At the time, it was unclear if Weinstein actually knew this for sure, or if he meant it more as advice. Now, Lawrence has set the record straight.
The news that Jennifer Lawrence isn't taking time off, at least not any time soon, won't be surprising to Hunger Games fans. Lawrence is currently filming the series' fourth movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. On top of this, Mockingjay - Part 1 is currently in post-production as well as X-Men: Days of Future Past. Both of these movies, along with her title role in the film Serena —which pairs her up with Bradley Cooper again — come out this year so she'll be busy with promotion.
Maybe Lawrence can get a good break in after the final Hunger Games film premieres. That will be 2015, so she should probably start planning a big 2016 vacation now.
