For 2014 Oscars Fashion Trends, Light is the New Black

The 2014 Oscars winners have been chosen, the best dressed have been named, the after parties have been attended, and another year of the Academy Awards are in the books. And in the aftermath, we’re not only left discussing how awesome Ellen Degeneres is and why Leonardo DiCaprio hates pizza, but — much more importantly — all of the style trends we saw emerge on the red carpet. One in particular can’t be denied: For the actresses showing up to Sunday's show, light hues are totally the new black. From icy white to nearly nude, nominees and presenters alike walked the red carpet in a slew of pale hues at the awards show. Here are 10 stars who are making subtle shades the thing to wear right now.

Opting for a shiny gown like Biel’s, too, the Frozen star chose a strapless, frosty white number that’s shade and corseting fit her slim silhouette and porcelain skin perfectly.
