Here's When Crystal Pepsi Will Be Available

Heads up, fellow '90s kids! Crystal Pepsi is returning for a limited time, meaning you can further enjoy all your '90s nostalgia and have an excuse to drink as much soda as you want, all at the same time. Hooray! So when can you buy Crystal Pepsi and start re-living your childhood? Good news: The answer is soon — and depending on where you live, it might be really soon.

According to PepsiCo, Crystal Pepsi returns to stores on Aug. 8 in the United States, which is a scant two months away. If you live a little further north, though, you're in luck — it'll be arriving on shelves in Canada on July 7. It will, however, only be around for a limited time — eight weeks, to be exact — so you'll want to hop on the bandwagon while you can. Is there a chance that PepsiCo might be inspired to extend Crystal Pepsi's revival? It's not totally outside the realm of possibility; given how enthusiastic '90s kids are for products from our childhood, the demand will certainly be there. But in the meantime, we'll just have to stick to those eight weeks and hope for the best.

This isn't the first time that Crystal Pepsi has come back since being discontinued in 1993, but it is the first time it will once again be on the shelves of major retailers. It was available briefly in December of 2015 as part of an online sweepstakes. In light of the December contest, therefore, it's perhaps not entirely surprising that Crystal Pepsi has made its way back to stores, even if only for a short time; besides, '90s nostalgia is huge these days. As Linda Lagos, director of marketing for Pepsi, put it according to AdAge, "Pepsi is all about pop culture and few things are as hot right now in pop culture as the 1990s."

Crystal Pepsi wasn't actually around long the first time around; it launched in 1992 and was pretty much nowhere to be found by 1994. But despite its limited run, Crystal Pepsi has massive nostalgia appeal in the 21st century, and unsurprisingly the promotion will be heavy on the '90s connections. Pepsi will also launch the "Crystal Pepsi Trail" on July 7, inspired by another '90s staple, the popular game Oregon Trail.

Which, now that I've mentioned it, you probably want to go back and play. Just a guess.

Stacy Taffet, Senior Director of marketing, also made a point in a press release to refer to the whole thing as "totally rad." The '90s nostalgia is in full swing, from the soda itself right down to the words used to describe it.

Crystal Pepsi will be sold in 20 oz. bottles, with a suggested retail price of $1.79. So, enjoy!
