It’s finally the time in the season of The Bachelorette that I can start to pass judgment on the men. It’s not that I wasn’t passing any judgments before (I mean, how could I not comment on that whole Chad thing), but now viewers have a better sense of who the men who are left are. We’ve seen some things, Bachelorette fans, and now it’s time to get down to brass tacks. Who is right for JoJo, and there for the right reasons? It’s under that frame of reference that I think Jordan Rodgers should go home on The Bachelorette .
Jordan is an obvious frontrunner for JoJo’s heart — JoJo even admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she had heard he was going to be on the show and looked him up. He’s the younger brother of probable Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and he played a little bit of football himself. Not as good as his big brother, Jordan never actually played in an NFL game. But, football skills or no aside, what I don’t like about Jordan is that he seems really disingenuous. I don’t know how to describe it, but I just get this feeling whenever he’s on screen that he’s planning for something bigger than JoJo. To use typical Bachelor Nation language, I don't think Jordan is on the show for “the right reasons.” Here’s why Jordan Rodgers should go home on The Bachelorette.
1. Jordan & JoJo Are All About Lust
Granted, they haven’t known each other that long, but JoJo and Jordan have their hands all over each other when they meet. Relationships built on sex can be fun, but they don’t last if they don’t go deeper, and Jordan and JoJo’s certainly hasn’t yet.
2. Jordan Has No Decorum
Remember when Jordan pushed JoJo up against the wall to make out with her while the other Bachelorette contestants were on the other side of the same wall? Like, dude, save some stuff for private, or at least walk down the hall.
3. Jordan Instigates
Chad was also an instigator and a bully. So? The only way to diffuse an instigator is by not responding to them — that way, they don’t get what they want, which is really to get a rise out of you. Jordan let Chad pick fights with him, which is a sign of some serious immaturity. When has a situation been escalated by walking away? Never, and Jordan should have done that instead.
4. Jordan Is A Show-Off
Yeah, we know the producers planned like 37 football-related dates for this season of The Bachelorette, probably because Jordan used to play professional football. But, because of that, Jordan should have chilled on those dates and let someone else have a shot. It's not very fair that he won considering THAT WAS HIS LITERAL JOB.
5. Jordan Is Allegedly Not A Great Partner
In Jordan’s introduction, he talked a lot about how he chose football over his last relationship, and that’s what led to the relationship’s demise. However, Jordan’s ex-girlfriend, Brittany Farrar, went on Instagram to claim that it wasn’t so much the football part that doomed them, but Jordan’s alleged cheating. Although he denied having cheated, he did admit to JoJo that he was "talking to other girls" when he maybe shouldn't have. JoJo deserves better.
6. Jordan Seemingly Doesn't Get Along With His Family
When asked by Garbage Time host Katie Nolan on her podcast (if you like sports even a little you should watch/listen) what his relationship was like with his brother, Jordan said, "It's complicated." According to People, Jordan's ex Brittany is close with Aaron and Olivia Munn, Aaron's girlfriend. Seems like they chose his ex over Jordan — but why? This could be a warning sign.
7. Jordan Never Answers A Straight Question
Has Jordan ever said “yes” or “no” to a question asked by JoJo? I feel like he hems and haws around the point, and that's so annoying.
8. Jordan Admitted He's A Flirt
JoJo's meeting with Jordan's ex was pretty scary for him, and when asked point blank if he had cheated, Jordan said no, but said he flirted with other women. That's not OK in my book — if you're in a relationship, act like it.
9. Jordan Spends Too Much Time On His Hair
How long do you think it takes Jordan to perfect his Jimmy Neutron-style coif? I mean, it's nice and all, but maybe a little over the top.
10. Jordan Doth Protest Too Much
News broke recently that Jordan allegedly had an active profile on a dating website, and the Internet exploded. Instead of being like "Yep, that's not true, I deactivated that shiz," or whatever, Jordan wrote a lengthy diatribe about how it was false. Dude, we only needed like three words from you on the matter, not 300.
11. Jordan Is Already Kind Of Famous
I mean famous in a very middling way — he's the brother of someone very famous in the sports world. But he's famous enough, so why would he go on a reality show to find love? He could go find love anywhere else. Maybe what he's really looking for is more fame?
Sorry, Jordan — I just think its time for your roses to be revoked. There’s always football, right?
