As much respect as I have for the Oscars and the Emmys, and all the fancy-schmancy award shows like that, I never really feel like they speak with my voice. Which is why I'm delighted to share the news that Bravo officially has its own awards show now, The Bravos, and you can finally give celebrities the awards they truly deserve. Sure, categories like Best Actress or Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries sound cool, and are incredibly prestigious, but how fun are they, really? And how specific? Mostly, awards like that make me think of gold statuettes sitting on your shelf gathering dust. (Well, not on my shelf. The Oscar is still in my future, bbs.) But what about "the Biggest Hustle Moment"? Or the "Don't Call It A Comeback Award"? Now these are some categories that I have opinions about. And most importantly, I know that anyone who's been nominated for them will be deserving.
Take the "Queen of Shade Award," for example. Your options are Reza Farahan from Shahs of Sunset, Phaedra Parks from Real Housewives of Atlanta, Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac, and Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out. We all have our biases to contend with, but I'd say for certain that any of those options are more than deserving of a nod devoted specifically to side eye. But hey, it's all up to you, because the voting for The Bravos will be done by fans of the network itself, not some high-falutin' academy. The fate of all your favorite Bravo-lebrities is in your hands, so you finally have a way to give back to Bethenny Frankel for all those hours of unapologetic entertainment, in the form of the "Sorry Not Sorry Award." This is huge.
And hey, there's even a possibility that it could be your name up in lights next year, because there's a category for "Biggest Bravoholic." Assuming the main requirement for that is "has watched at least 10,000 hours of Bravo programming pantsless," I should be a shoe-in. But in the meantime, you can vote for your faves up until July 15, with the award show itself airing on y20, on Bravo — where else?
