Ali Looks Pretty Guilty On 'Pretty Little Liars'

by Kelly Schremph

As we all undoubtedly suspected, the Pretty Little Liars Season 7 premiere seemed to give us more questions than answers, particularly in regards to whether or not Alison is really as guilty as she seems. But did Alison really kill Charlotte on Pretty Little Liars ? The rest of the Rosewood gang certainly seem confident about it, especially now that they've found the red sweater Aria and Ezra thought they saw her wearing while on her way to the church prior to Charlotte's death. But, if you think about it, that's really not much to go on. I know Toby said that Charlotte wasn't wearing a red sweater that day, so it couldn't have been her, but she could've taken it off at some point or dropped it somewhere after the fact. The point is, this is all just mere speculation at best, which makes me more suspicious that Alison may be innocent.

For starters, the writers are making her look way too guilty right now, so that right there makes me question how legit this accusation can be. This series is known for throwing out red herrings almost on a weekly basis. Who's to say this situation is any different? Plus, what exactly would Ali's motive have been? She loved Charlotte and was constantly working to get her released. I suppose she could've found out about how much Elliot cared for her and became jealous, but it still feels like a bit of a stretch.

Despite the way Emily worded things to her friends, Ali didn't come right out and admit to Charlotte's murder. She woke up suddenly when Emily asked her whether or not she did it and she immediately began asking to be forgiven for something. But for all we know, she didn't even know Emily was there, let alone hear her question. Ali has been through a lot over the last six seasons and she's done some terrible things long before we ever knew her, so she probably has a lot to be sorry for. That doesn't necessarily make her guilty of this particular crime.

If you ask me, I think the Liars are jumping to conclusions a little too quickly. Odds are, Charlotte's killer is still out there and is just biding their time. Let's not forget what the Liars found out about Mary Drake throughout the hour. She ended up in Radley shortly after a child accidentally died under her watch while babysitting. Perhaps this child's mother or father is the one behind Charlotte's death. Maybe after all these years, he or she wanted Mary to know what it felt like to lose a child and this was their form of revenge.

Either way, though, this story was brought up for a reason and will probably become a huge factor later on in the season. So don't write Alison off just yet, folks. There's still so much for us to learn.
