Here's a fudge-filled treat you didn't see coming at you on a Monday. The new Starbucks Double Double Fudge Bar Frappuccino joined Starbucks' menu this weekend, and its name pretty much tells you everything you need to know — this Fudgsicle in a cup comes packed with chocolate, chocolate, and oh yeah, more chocolate. And the best news? It's available right now for "the next few weeks," according to Starbucks, so if you're looking for a reason to treat yourself today, well, this is it.
So what makes a Fudge Bar Frappuccino a Double Double Fudge Bar Frappuccino? Oh nothing — just double servings of mocha sauce, blended with vanilla syrup, coffee, milk, and ice. The fudgy Frapp also comes with a swirl of chocolate whipped cream, so if you wanted to call this a Triple Double Fudge Bar Frappuccino, you wouldn't even really be exaggerating — there is a whole lot of chocolate packed into this thing, and I am ready for it. I mean, not to get too nostalgic or anything, but Fudgsicles were definitely my favorite dessert when I was a kid, and this kind of seems like the grownup version of that, because there is coffee involved (a 12 oz. contains 75mg of caffeine, according to Starbucks).
The Double Double Fudge Bar Frappuccino (honestly, I just like saying its name as fast as I can) should be available at participating stores in the U.S. and Canada for as long as supplies last, and costs between $4.25 and $4.95, depending on market. So, head on over to your local store and try one of these for yourself, if you have time today. Think of the chocolate, people. All of that glorious, glorious chocolate.
I gotta say, Starbucks has been killing the Frappuccino game this year. Earlier this spring, it brought back its popular S'mores Frappuccino from last year, which comes loaded with chocolate sauce and marshmallow-infused whipped cream. The coffee giant also debuted its new Caramel Waffle Cone Frappuccino for summer 2016, which is a throwback to your favorite boardwalk treat and may or may not involve copious amounts of dark caramel sauce, and crumbled up pieces of real life waffle cone.
So to recap, if you're craving something cold, something sweet, and something with a little bit of a kick, Starbucks is the place to be right now. A beautiful Frappuccino awaits you.
