14-year-Old Kiernan Shipka Is Cooler Than You

At this point, it's no secret that Kiernan Shipka is cool. The 14-year-old actress has a starring role on Mad Men, played herself for laughs on Don't Trust The B----, and has fashion style so good that she's one of the few child stars Suri's Burn Book actually admires. Shipka even makes dorky things look cool; just last weekend, she ran into Taylor Swift at a clothing boutique and had no qualms about publicly fangirling over the singer, shaking her hand and grinning from ear to ear. Now, the Flowers in the Attic actress is at it again, posting an Instagram that shows Shipka getting breakfast with Lorde and The Hunger Games ' Amandla Stenberg. Like we said: she's cool.

As for the circumstances that led to this star-studded breakfast, we can only use our imaginations. Shipka and Stenberg are close friends, as shown by both teens' Instagrams and Mindy Kaling's pronouncements on Twitter. The addition of Lorde, though, is a bit more curious; perhaps Shipka and the "Royals" singer hit it off when they ran into each other alongside Swift last weekend, and the breakfast plans are marking a beginning of their friendship. Or perhaps the two have known each other for awhile, and only now is Shipka introducing Lorde to her other close friend, Stenberg.

Whatever the reason, the idea of three of Hollywood's biggest young stars being best friends is pretty great — and only makes us a little bit jealous. We'll never be as cool as Shipka and her pals, and we're going to have to come to terms with that... just after we finish obsessing over that dress she wore to the Costume Designers Guild Awards, of course. Seriously, who looks that cool at 14?
