At the beginning of The Bachelorette, there are just too many guys to deal with. It’s hard to keep track of who they all are, what they’re all there for, what they do for a living, blah. I do better when the field gets narrowed — that’s why I’m so glad that JoJo finally took Luke out for a one-on-one date on The Bachelorette . Luke and JoJo shared a romantic date, and Luke opened up to JoJo about his military service and how it made him the man he is today. You guys, I think I’m also falling in love with Luke.
The Bachelorette has moved to Pennsylvania, and Luke and JoJo went on a one-on-one date where he chopped wood for a wood-powered hot tub (because they make those). Afterward, they sat in the hot tub (natch) and then went to dinner, and when JoJo asked Luke why he has this sort of quiet confidence about him, he told us a story that few people know. You see, Luke was drafted to play football for West Point, and, following his school, he went overseas to war where he was in charge of a whole platoon of men. He didn’t take this responsibility lightly — his decisions controlled the fates of dozens of men. Soon after, a good friend of his was killed in action, and Luke’s whole world turned upside down. He vowed to live his life to the fullest, and that’s why he went out for the show and all that.
Luke’s bravery is commendable, and you can tell that JoJo really changed her feelings toward Luke after that story. Now that they got to know each other better, I think Luke will race right to the front of the pack. She said their relationship is "deep," and it's bound to get deeper from here.
