Brie Larson Should Totally Play Captain Marvel

Be still my heart! Is it possible that Brie Larson could play Captain Marvel in the next Marvel superhero movie slated to hit the big screen? Apparently so: Variety reported on Wednesday that Larson was in talks to play the role, saying that the Oscar-winning actress was “leaning toward playing the part.” And as far as that may be from a guarantee, my heart felt all aflutter at the news because, a.) I love Brie Larson, and b.) I’ve been following this Captain Marvel casting news with the close eye for years. Ever since the possibility of a Captain Marvel movie existed, I was secretly hoping that whoever was chosen to play the female superhero would be one badass chick. Which is why, when I heard that Brie Larson might play Captain Marvel, I thought of a bunch of reasons why it needed to happen.

Because even though it might be some time before we know for sure whether Larson will play the role, the fact that she is even reportedly in talks to be a part of this project has me all kinds of excited. If the news of her potentially playing the part has this kind of effect on me, then that is just one of the many reasons why this news needs to be true.

So let’s just cross all of our fingers that this casting news comes true. I can’t think of anything that would revive my faith in Hollywood more than Brie Larson as Captain Marvel.
