Dior Who? 8 Designers We'd Rather See Jennifer Lawrence Wear for the 2014 Oscars

With the 2014 Oscars a few days away, votes are being tallied, winners are being picked, and — perhaps most importantly — red carpet gowns are being chosen, fitted, tailored, and perfected. And though we can’t wait until Sunday evening to see all the stars in their stunning (and sometimes shocking) gowns, there are a few stars in particular we’re most excited to catch a glimpse of coming down the red carpet, including Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence. The only problem: We already know what designer she’ll be wearing, which takes half the fun out of Oscars night fashion. Thanks to her extended contract as the face of Dior, the chances the American Hustle actress will wear anything but the famed Parisian label are slim to none. And it’s not that we hate seeing Lawrence in Dior — some of her most beautiful looks to date, including last year’s Oscars gown and her black Met Ball number, were from the designer — but she’s had so many hits in other brands over the years that we miss seeing her show up to big awards shows in creations by a slew of different designers. In fact, there are eight labels in particular we love to see Lawrence don. Check out which designers we’d go crazy to see America’s best friend show up in on Sunday night.

Calvin Klein

It’s a safe bet to say Lawrence’s road to fashion fame got its start when she wore a certain simple red Calvin Klein gown to the 2011 Oscars, but the actress has had her fair share of hits in other looks from the designer over the last several years, too. Case in point: this silver stunner that she wore to an after party for last year’s Academy Awards.

Alexander McQueen

Remember that glorious day last year when Lawrence shocked everyone with a pixie cut, only to start upping the ante on her red carpet style with more dark and daring designs, like this one from Alexander McQueen at a Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere in Madrid? We do, too, and we think McQueen’s bold designs are a perfect fit for the star’s newly unveiled edgy side.

Proenza Schouler

Don’t get us wrong: Dior’s ladylike designs are to die for, but we love seeing Lawrence in something a little more curve hugging (and enhancing), like the Proenza Schouler dress she wore last year to a Hunger Games: Catching Fire photo call in Rome.

Viktor & Rolf

We adore it when the Oscar-winning actress busts out color and graphic appeal — like she did at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards — which is why we think she’d look amazing in one of the Amsterdam-based designer’s quirky avant-garde creations on the big night.

Prabal Gurung

Nothing says sexy and femme fatale like a little black leather and a perfectly placed cutout — which Lawrence proved at the 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards — and we’d like to see the actress rock more of it on the biggest night of the year in a label that combines edgy and feminine details perfectly.

David Koma

The designer may be known for his perfectly fitting and so-chic day dresses — like the one Lawrence wore to the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards — but you can’t stop us from wishing David Koma would whip out a full-on gown for Lawrence come Sunday night.

Valentino

It’s not often that she rocks designs from one of the big Italian fashion labels, but when she does — like she did at the 2013 Hollywood Reporter Nominees’ Night event — we can’t seem to get enough.

Lanvin

We’re sure we’ll see a Lanvin gown or two at this year’s Academy Awards, but knowing how killer Lawrence looks in the label’s designs — as evidenced by the dress she wore to the 2013 Independent Spirit Awards — you can’t blame us for dreaming that she’d be in one of them.
