Have you all heard — Jordan Rodgers, current contestant on JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette , is the brother of NFL quarterback and future Hall of Famer (maybe)? Oh, you didn’t know? Well, he’s mentioned in a few times. Here’s the thing, though — how do you not mention the fact that your brother is in the NFL, especially when you were in the NFL yourself (for like five minutes, but still)? If I were on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, I would want to talk about my family, whether they were famous or not. Jordan’s speaking about his brother Aaron Rodgers is normal to me, but I definitely see the other side.
Some could argue that Jordan is just dropping his brother’s name in order to stay on the show (producers love that ratings game) and to boost his own profile, but isn’t everyone on the show looking to boost his or her own profile? The whole point is to stay as long as possible, and they all want that rose. Opening up and talking about your life and your family is a way to do that. Unfortunately, Twitter really disagrees with me, and many are tweeting that Jordan has to stop referencing his famous sibling every 15 minutes.
Okay, Internet. Fair enough. Hopefully, Jordan will focus less on his famous family and more on himself in future episodes. If JoJo is really going to get to know Jordan, he has to talk more about what makes him tick (and not Aaron and Olivia Munn). I have faith — I think this is just the beginning stages of dating someone where you talk basics about your life and then you expand from there into the real, deep stuff. Jordan Rodgers, namedropper? Nah, he’s just really into his family, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
