Take that, Olly! Jon Snow didn't "die" in vain after all. After disappearing for virtually the entire series, dear old Uncle Benjen Stark returned on Game of Thrones. He swooped in to save Bran and Meera from the wights at the opportune moment.
We first met Benjen in Season 1, when he escorted Jon Snow to the Night's Watch. Almost immediately, Benjen left with a ranging party, never to be seen or heard from again. Until now! Yay! Benjen said that he was sent by the Raven — which at this point means Bran, right? I think it means Bran. Anyway, Benjen has apparently been living North of the Wall all of this time, fighting White Walkers. That's basically what all of us assumed, right? It's not the most glamorous position to be in, but I'm glad that he's OK. Why was he covering his face? Was that just to protect from the cold? Was it just to reveal his identity? For a second, I thought that he might be partially zombified or something, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Who's to say?
All that matters is that House Stark is slowly uniting and gathering forces and working together. It's the best! This season has been serving up reunions on a silver platter, and I could not be more pleased. I'm also super curious as to what Benjen has learned in the North, working with the Raven and fighting the Night's King. Whatever it is, I'm glad that Bran has his Uncle on his side.
