Here's The Best Way To Dry Your Bathing Suit
If you’re planning on practically living in your bathing suit this summer, then you’re going to need to know just how to take care of it. The answer to this one question will greatly impact how you care for your swimwear. Can you put your bathing suit in the dryer? The answer is no. In fact, you should really avoid it at all costs.
Skipping the dryer will keep the fabric of your bathing suit intact, swimwear designer Marysia Reeves told Real Simple. According to her, the heat can damage your suit’s elasticity. She also points out that you’ll want to avoid wearing your favorite swimsuit in a Jacuzzi for that same reason, too. I had no idea, but I’m definitely taking note. Only my oldest swimsuits will be worn in hot tubs from now on!
Air-drying seems to be the best method for keeping your swimwear looking good as new for much, much longer. The more gentle your washing and drying methods are, the better. Find out even more tips and tricks for drying your swimwear so that you can slip into that suit again soon because summer is calling your name!
1. Don’t Place Directly In The Sun
Hanging your swimsuit to dry on a clothing line a.k.a the good old-fashioned way works just fine as long as you don't place it in the direct sunlight, according to Stylecaster. That could cause major discoloration and fading to occur.
2. Lie It Down Flat
Hanging your swimsuit with it soaking wet could cause the shape to stretch out a little, so you can also try lying it down on a towel and leaving it to dry that way, according to Glamour. In a few hours, you should have a perfectly dry swimsuit that's in the same condition as it was when you bought it.

3. Indoor Drying Works Just Fine
If you don't have a clothesline, or you're afraid of sun damage, PopSugar suggests you try this modern method: hang your bathing suit from a hanger on the shower rod. Yep, we've all been there before, am I right?
4. Do Not Wring Dry
While your suit may be really wet and you may be hoping to decrease the amount of time it takes for your swimsuit to dry, whatever you do — do not wring it dry, Huffington Post warns. This can be damaging to the fabric, so you'll just have to resist the urge!
5. Try The Towel Method
Instead of wringing and potentially damaging your suit, Huffington Post suggests rolling your suit in a towel for a more gentle way of absorbing moisture before laying or hanging it to dry.
Now that you know how to properly care for this summer wardrobe staple, slip on that suit and let the summertime fun begin!
