Oh, the producers of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are so good with their stunt castings. I mean, every single season somebody else shows up — someone that we’ve already seen. Bachelor Nation is so small, and it seems like finding love is harder than you think. We’re barely two hours into JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette and guess who already visited her? Former Bachelor Jake Pavelka! And when Jake popped into the room, boy, did all of the Bachelorette contestants look terrified.
Of course, it all happened right when the rose ceremony was about to start. JoJo had the first rose in her hand, and Jake came in and swept her away into the back room to tell her that he wants love... for her. Fooled us! It turns out that Jake is actually an old friend of JoJo's family (he knows her brothers really well), and he just wanted to come in to talk to her about the process of being on The Bachelor and what to expect from here on out. The conversation lasted for all of five minutes, after which JoJo went back to her rose ceremony and cut oh, about half of her contestants. Que sera, sera, you know?
I can understand the hesitance and fear in the contestants — in the last season of Bachelorette with Kaitlyn Bristowe, the producers allowed former Bachelorette contestant Nick Viall (of Andi's season) into the fray, and this was like five weeks in. All the other dudes had been around for four or five weeks and Nick just slipped right in, making it to the final two. I can imagine how frustrating that must be.
Anyone who has seen the show before would be looking out for producer tricks, and they almost had one here. Don't worry, Bachelor fans — there's bound to be another one right around the corner.
