A DCOM Soundtrack Is Coming & It'll Be Amazing

by Sabienna Bowman

As if you weren't already psyched enough about the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM) Memorial Day marathon, Disney Channel has added a whole other layer of excitement by announcing the release of a DCOM soundtrack set for a May 27 release on iTunes. There truly has never been a better time to be a '90s kid besides the actual '90s. Buzzfeed broke the news and unveiled the DCOM soundtrack track listing. The album is set to feature 13 songs from movies ranging from Kim Possible to the all-new 100th DCOM Adventures in Babysitting .

The mix of old school favorites and new hits from movies like The Descendants makes this an album that will appeal to DCOM fans of all ages. Disney is actually being super clever by mixing songs from The Cheetah Girls with the new school hits because it is clearly going to lead to even more people becoming obsessed with The Descendants. Whether or not you know every song on the album, titled Your Favorite Songs From 100 Disney Movies , you are going to adore it. This is your childhood combined with a valid excuse to listen to catchy bubblegum pop songs. What more could you possibly ask for? The track list, you say? Coming right up.

1. "Breaking Free," High School Musical

Representing the first High School Musical is the song's most uplifting song. This is perfect for singing into your hairbrush while pretending you are a pop star.

2. "Gotta Go My Own Way," High School Musical 2

Next up is the bittersweet "Gotta Go My Own Way," for all your old school High School Musical shipping needs.

3. "Cruisin’ For A Bruisin'," Teen Beach Movie

This '50s inspired jam is destined to be your new favorite if you haven't heard it yet. Yes, it comes from a recent DCOM, but it is a fun DCOM that pays homage to the beach movies your grandparents loved.

4. "Gotta Be Me," Teen Beach Movie 2

Just like "Cruisin' For A Bruisin'," "Gotta Be Me" is an old school style song that is all about getting you on your feet. Having these two songs back to back is clearly Disney's way of making sure DCOM fans spend the summer dancing their butts off.

5. "Rotten To The Core," Descendants

There is no way you made it through 2015 without hearing this song roughly a thousand times.

6. "Strut," Cheetah Girls 2

This one is for the classic DCOM fans. "Strut" is a fierce anthem about owning your awesome and it has probably been way too long since the last time you heard it.

7. "One And The Same," Princess Protection Program

Remember when Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez were Disney kids? If not, this song will remind you.

8. "This Is Me," Camp Rock

More Gomez! I never quite bought this movie's version of a camp, but this is a sweet song, and one of the few slower numbers on the album.

9. "Introducing Me," Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam

Prepare to swoon as Nick Jonas serenades you with his cheese preferences.

10. "Call Me, Beep Me," Kim Possible

Best theme song ever? I think so. The Kim Possible anthem is the perfect nostalgia choice. The musical movies are great, but I am glad to see Disney did not forget to add a little Kim in the mix.

11. "Determinate," Lemonade Mouth

I must admit, this song is completely new to me, but it has a sweet beat that lends itself well to chair dancing.

12. "Wildside," Adventures In Babysitting

Girl Meets World's Sabrina Carpenter sings on this track, so I am already sold.

13. "Forever In Your Mind (DC Classics Medley)"

The album wraps up with a special medley of classic DCOM songs including "Wildside," "This Is Me," "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'," "Rotten to the Core," and "Breaking Free."

You might as well go ahead and give your money to Disney now. Your Favorite Songs From 100 Disney Movies is now available for pre-order on iTunes.
