Max Mara's Fall 2014 Collection is Tweed-Tastic
If you think tweed belongs on university professors reading dusty tomes at the school library, or an accomplished equestrian riding a horse with a name like Muffy, you haven't seen Max Mara's Fall 2014 collection. At Milan Fashion Week, Max Mara took the classic textile and turned it on its head, using tweed to give a timeless dimension to leather, and a new twist to the classic trench coat. The new tweed is edgier and more daring, especially when piled on in multiple, mismatched patterns. This Fall, we're going to give tweed a chance.

This multicolored tweed jacket is part professor and part couture fashion maven. In other words, perfect no matter what your style.

If an excess of tweed gives you a migraine, you’re in luck. The earthy tweed vest in this ensemble takes back seat to the textured gold skirt and wool shell.

We love the edgy look of this two-toned sleeveless tweed coat, especially styled the way the model is rocking it: with tousled hair, a red lip, and menswear-inspired booties.

We’re taking notes on this downtown-chic ensemble. A charcoal tweed blazer plus a soft grey sweater and textured leather skirt makes a stylish statement.
