Miley Cyrus traded in her boyish pixie buzz cut for another famous platinum blonde 'do. Starring on the cover of the March 2014 issue of Vogue Germany, Cyrus channeled Marilyn Monroe and Madonna for a more feminine and sultry look.
Oribe Hair Care was responsible for the beauty transformation, sharing the photo on their Instagram account. Oribe described the inspiration for the look, saying, "Madonna was often inspired by Marilyn, and Miley was inspired by Madonna. Next, the inspiration for new stars will be Miley... pass the torch."
Oribe shared exactly how they achieved Miley's cover star look on their website. Here's how they did it:
1. First, they prepped her hair with Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse to create volume and shine. Next, they blow-dried her hair, making sure to keep its natural movement.
2. They curled her hair with a 2-inch iron and used pin curls to help it set.
3. Once her curls cooled, they removed the pins and sprayed Soft Dry Conditioner Spray. Then, they pieced her hair out with their fingers, then sprayed Soft all over once again.
Although borrowed just for the shoot, I am digging this new-old look on Miley. The curly bob totally flatters her face and gives her a (much needed) touch of elegance. Perhaps she can take styling notes from Katy Perry, who recently debuted the same sort of 'do.
