All The Hairstyles We Wore To Prom
All things hair, beauty, and fashion have changed quite a bit over the years — so it's fun to look back on all the hairstyles we wore to prom in the 2000s. I mean, remember the days when it was ringlets or bust? When flat irons and curling irons fought a fierce fight for dominance? Even though only a relatively short time period has passed, things sure have changed a lot (sometimes, it feels like every trend from before 2010 was pure madness).
That said, throughout the 2000s, you'll actually recognize a lot of trends that have grown into the trends of today — and, of course, some things will probably never change. I mean, will voluminous waves ever not be considered glamorous? Thankfully, though, a lot of the 2000s hair trends are gone, hopefully for good — take for instance the preoccupation we all seemed to have with side bangs (and side note, yesterday's side bangs are vastly different than the side bangs of today, and not in a good way).
So, with all that in mind, let's take a few seconds to scroll through the popular hairstyles of yesteryear — in other words, all the face-framing tendrils, overly sprayed ringlets, and asymmetrical updos a girl could want.
1. The Faux Lob
Remember when this was all the rage?
2. The Clipped-Up Poof
This style was everywhere.
3. The Elaborate Curly Updo
Every girl's prom princess dream.
4. The Even More Elaborate Curly Updo
YAASSS.
5. The Bangsy Updo
Bangs + a perfectly tousled updo = alternative chic.

6. The Super Straight Strands
Flat irons were a girl's best friend back in the day.
7. The Side Chignon
My classiest friend totally wore a side chignon to prom, and the rest of us immediately regretted our basic updos and beachy waves.
8. The Side Ponytail
If you didn't rock the side chignon, you might have rocked the side ponytail.
9. The Face-Framing Tendrils
Bonus points if you also added the feathers.
10. The Overly Dramatic Side Bangs
How did no one notice how not OK these were?
11. The Ultra Poofy Side Bangs
Mousse and blowdryers worked together to create this majestic feat against gravity.
12. The Ringlets
One-inch curling iron? Check. Ten cans of hairspray? Also check.
