'OUAT' Season 3 Just Got Interesting
Somewhere over the rainbow, something wicked is coming. After what's seemed like forever since the show went on hiatus — there's a new Once Upon A Time promo for the ABC series' midseason premiere and it's awesome. Following the earlier announcement that Sunney Mabry will play Glinda the Good Witch in the show's new Oz storyline, the promo is Wicked Witch of the West-heavy and jam-packed with details about the rest of OUAT's third season. And if we were excited before — we're really excited now to get back into the Enchanted Forest and Storybrooke on Mar. 9.
The midseason premiere, "New York City Serenade," is still over two weeks away — but the sheer volume of details in this promo is impressive. When Once Upon A Time went on hiatus, it left fans with a huge cliffhanger in which everyone returned to the Enchanted Forest and Emma and Henry were living in blissful memory-erased ignorance in New York City. Well, none of that's going to last very long — at least, that's what multiple viewings of the new promo revealed.
OUAT only gave us about 30-seconds' worth of hints about what's about to go down in impending war between Regina and the soon-to-be-introduced Wicked Witch of the West but the snippets of action flash by so quickly that it's easy to miss some important clues, so we've broken it down for you. Here are the biggest and most exciting reveals from Once Upon A Time's midseason premiere promo:
FLYING MONKEYS
There can be no Wicked Witch without flying monkeys — we're pumped.
EMMA'S BACK IN STORYBROOKE
And so is everyone else — but does this mean she got her memories back?!?!
THE WICKED WITCH IS COMING TO STORYBROOKE
She's bringing the war to them. Also, how cool is the Yellow Brick Road leading to Storybrooke?
SHE'S TURNING THEM INTO FLYING MONKEYS
We don't know it for sure, but following this exchange the below screen-grab occurs...
PEOPLE ARE GETTING HURT
...and then A FLYING MONKEY BREAKS A WINDOW IN THE HOSPITAL BY FLYING THROUGH IT. Thus proving the previous theory.
DAVID'S IN TROUBLE
David narrowly escaped being poisoned by Dreamshade and he's been technically living on borrowed time every minute he spends out of Neverland. We hope this doesn't mean that he's dying (that figure in the background looks a lot like a grim reaper of sorts) but anything's possible.

OUAT is going to make us forget all about its boring-as-hell Neverland storyline with just one puff of the Wicked Witch's green smoke. Guaranteed.
