Chrissy Teigen's Motherhood Photo Is Everything

One of the reasons I love following Chrissy Teigen on social media is the fact that she puts it all out there — the good, the bad, and the real. Her Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat aren't just comprised of photos where she and husband John Legend look their best. Real life isn't super glam all the time, and Teigen keeps it real, and that's definitely not going to change now that she's a mom. On Monday, Teigen shared a photo where she's breastfeeding while getting ready for a photoshoot on Snapchat, and not only does it prove that she excellent at multitasking, but it also reminds us of something very important: Motherhood looks different on everyone.

In the pic, Teigen is smiling while feeding her daughter, Luna Simone, as a stylist helps her get dressed. Teigen is topless in the photo, but her hair and makeup are done, and yes, she looks absolutely gorgeous, as per usual. It's practically a photo worthy of framing (especially since Luna's tiny baby legs are just so adorable), and it's clear she's loving that mom life. And honestly, it's an awesome way to see a working mom kicking major butt at life. Baby's gotta eat, and Mom's gotta model. How cool is it that she gets to take Luna to work with her and get the best of both worlds?

Oh, and even more impressive: Teigen gave birth less than a month ago and she's already back at it.

This photo is awesome for so many reasons, and not just because I have a feeling it'll go a long way to destigmatize breastfeeding in public. Since welcoming Luna last month, Teigen has already remained as open about motherhood, despite the backlash she's faced. When she and Legend went out sans baby a week after their daughter was born, she received some serious mom-shaming. Teigen didn't hesitate to shut down her haters, and since then she's especially been open on Twitter about her mom-related struggles and successes with a good sense of humor to boot.

But no matter what she tweets, she can't please everyone, and the truth is that motherhood looks different to everyone, and this is what it looks like for Teigen. For another mother with a different job and a different lifestyle, making sure her baby is fed and taken care of probably takes place in a completely different setting and in a completely different way. But for Teigen, being a mom means feeding Luna breakfast on the set of a photoshoot, and she's choosing to share her experiences in a way that's authentic to her. It's awesome to get such a personal peek into her life, I love that Teigen chooses to share moments like this one even though she's usually on the receiving end of a really unfair amount of criticism.

Luna may only be a few weeks old, but the lady who gave her life is already serious #momgoals. One day, she'll be old enough to understand how cool her mom is as she paves the way for other moms to feel comfortable about sharing their version of motherhood with the world. And the sweet cooking skills she can someday pass down to Luna are just icing on the cake. Luckiest baby in the world!
