Pharrell Williams is Not a Vampire

by Erin Mayer

We now have it on good authority that Pharrell Williams is not a vampire. Which is great news for those of us hoping to emulate his flawless skin as we descend into middle age. As it turns out, his skincare routine has little in common with that of Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He simply washes his face. Which sounds a lot less painful than sucking blood for all of eternity, if you ask me.

In an interview with Time Out London, Williams responded to the question "[I]t seems like a lot of people are searching for 'Is Pharrell Williams a vampire?' on Google. Are you a vampire?" To which the "Blurred Lines" singer responded:

No I am not. I’m willing to go on record as saying that I don’t drink people’s blood. How do I stay so young-looking for a 40-year-old? I wash my face.

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Pharrell's ageless beauty has nothing to do with worshipping evil underlords or trading his soul to the Devil. He owes it all to soap and water.

In 2013, Williams revealed to Into the Gloss that he learned all he needed to know about skincare from supermodel Naomi Campbell. "Listen, this is what you have to do — you have to go to a dermatologist; you can’t keep using drugstore products," she told him. Clearly, he listened.

If you want to keep offering your soul to the Evil Ones for flawless skin as you age, so be it. But for a gentler route to everlasting youth, Pharrell suggests Cetaphil, Glytone Self-Foaming Cleanser, and a dermatologist-approved toner and moisturizer. Alternatively, you can continue to fall asleep with your makeup on and cry over this list of celebs who never age.
