Anna Wintour's Met Gala Look Is So Her

by Olivia Muenter

There are few things more predictably chic than Anna Wintour at the 2016 Met Gala. And don't get it twisted — that isn't to imply that predictability is bad, but rather that Wintour's style is a straight-up institution in its uniformed, fashionable consistency. Wintour knows what she likes and wants to wear. Trends be damned, Wintour is going to wear whatever it is she wants and be one of the most fabulous people in the room every single time. As one of the hosts of the Met Gala, Wintour's red carpet look is speculated and analyzed often — and it's always chic. While you probably won't see Wintour strutting down the carpet with a Sarah Jessica Parker-style headdress any time soon, you can usually predict a column-style, often floral gown from the Vogue legend.

Wintour stayed true to her usual style at this year's Met Gala, wearing a long, white, beaded gown paired with a couple of simple diamond accessories. The look was designed by Chanel and is stunning in it's simplicity and lines. Wintour's hair was, of course, in it's usual coiffed bob — her signature look to say the very least. The clean hairstyle was complemented by... are those double watches? I can dig it.

It's definitely futuristic, and 100 percent fabulous. As always, she walked the carpet with daughter Bee Shaffer, who looks equally amazing.

An excellent start to an excellent night, no?
