Kim K Rocked The Hell Out Of The Met Gala

by Marie Southard Ospina

If I had to choose one celebrity to tip my hat to in the "giving no effs" department, it'd have to be Kimmy K. And Kim Kardashian at the 2016 Met Gala is a good reminder why. Let's take a trip down memory lane for a moment, to the 2013 Met Gala. It was the year she wore the now-infamous Givenchy floral gown, contemporarily known to haters as the couch dress . It was also the year I realized what a fashion rule-breaker this Kardashian is. Paying no mind to so-called style rules for pregnant women, she rocked that form-fitting, bold-printed, long-sleeved, high-necked dress like there was no tomorrow. People hated her for it, but she reveled in their absurd fury — even recreating the look for Halloween two years down the line.

When it comes to dressing up for the Met Gala, the 35-year-old reality star turned businesswoman has never disappointed. From see-through, feather-trained gowns to ultra high slit dresses to the aforementioned flower power, Kardashian's style knows no bounds; no regulations. But I've been particularly excited dreaming of her 2016 ensemble for the Metropolitan Museum Of Art's "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology" gala. After all, Kim K is the queen of the selfie and a curator of digital media across numerous platforms. If there was going to be anyone who could nail a fashion tech theme, it was always going to be Kim K. And nail it she did.

From the high slit to the robotic overtones of the entire dress, Kardashian is my futuristic fashion goals. She looks like a contour queen of the 23rd century. What more could we have really asked for?
