Taylor Swift's Met Gala Hair Looks Are Fascinating
It's been a long time since Taylor Swift was rocking the corkscrew blonde curls that first made her famous, but her hair has always remained fabulous, no matter what she does with it. Considering she's co-hosting the 2016 Met Gala with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, I have to imagine her hair (and outfit) are probably going to slay this year. After all, Swift debuted platinum blonde hair on this month's Vogue, so I bet she and Wintour have discussed her Met Gala look for this year already. But I also have no doubt that Swift's 2016 Met Gala hairstyle will kill it.
So what look will Swift bring to the red carpet this year? My money is on her keeping the edgy blonde crop she's rocking right now and maybe even going with a hairstyle that's a little out of her comfort zone. Swift has definitely become more adventurous with her looks over the years, and this is a great chance to show off. And with the futuristic theme, "Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," I bet everyone on the red carpet will be a little more risk-taking this year.
In honor of Swift co-hosting this year's Met Gala, here's a look at her hairstyles from over the years.
2008
Aw, vintage Tay! How great do her curls look at her first Met Gala appearance in 2008? Paired with her gorgeous shimmery gold gown, she looked sweet and sophisticated at her first appearance.
2010
Swift skipped the 2009 gala, but she returned in 2010 with this amazing look. Her 1920s-inspired faux bob is so chic, and it shows off her natural curls and the amazing shoulders on her romantic white dress. The red lips add the perfect touch to her overall look
2011
Swift totally brought it to her third Met Gala. She paired a simple but soft pulled back look with a seriously dramatic nude gown with gorgeous black embroidery. And that train? Amazing. Swift's simple hairdo lets the dress take the attention (and she rocked the red lip again!).
2013
2013 was the year Swift took a few more risks with her Met Gala hairstyle (she skipped 2012). Her half-back style was a departure for the star, but I love how the look paired with her daring crystal-encrusted and mesh cutout-adorned black dress. And that amazing smoky eye? It pairs perfectly with this look.
2014
2014 was the first year Swift debuted her shorter chop at the Met Gala, and I happen to love it. Her slightly darker blonde bob paired perfectly with her sweet pink gown (and helped draw attention to her seriously amazing bow and train). And look, the red lips return.
Swift skipped 2015 again (I feel like her missed years might have something to do with her tour schedule?) Regardless, we know she'll be here this year, and I can't wait to see what hair look she comes up with.
