A Quiet Hair Dryer Exists Now
Ever noticed how your bathroom starts to sound like an airplane taking off as soon as your turn on the blow dryer? Well times are changing, my friend! A legit quiet hair dryer now exists, but it's going to cost you a pretty penny. Whether or not you decide to buy it, the technology is pretty dang impressive!
Behind this innovation is not a big beauty name, but Dyson. Yes, the epic vacuum people... Sir James Dyson, the company's founder, told BBC that making a quiet hair dryer was "an obvious choice" for the brand's next product and added, "There just happens to be a huge field in airflow ... We make very high-speed motors... so it's rather obvious that we would carry on and use that in everything involved in airflow." The team has managed to make an amazingly small motor with some seriously fierce drying power.
As NYMag explained, it took nearly four years for Dyson to master the quiet motor design, but the hair dryer also comes with even more added perks: it doesn't damage hair nearly as much as your classic model! I feel like that's news we can all get excited about.
The Dyson Supersonic debuts in Japan and will be available in the U.S. and hits Sephora.com this August. But warning you now, each one costs $399. Worth it? Only you can decide!
Is it just me, or does it look kind of like an amazing vibrator?
