Kanye Gives His "Imma Let You Finish" Speech Again

by Allyson Koerner

"Imma let you finish" whatever you were doing on this fine Monday, but before you do, you need to check out this video of Kanye West spoofing that infamous Taylor Swift 2009 VMAs moment at a friend's wedding he attended in Miami on Saturday, April 23. I know, I know. Some of you may be rolling your eyes or irritated at the fact that West can't leave things well enough alone, because he just can't help but pull a Kanye. But, honestly, this time around it was actually pretty funny.

During the reception, guest and DuJour magazine founder Jason Binn was giving a celebratory speech to the groom and bride, David Grutman and Isabela Rangel, when West walked up on stage, grabbed the microphone, and jokingly said, "Jason, Imma let you finish, but Dave and Isabela had one of the best weddings of all time." You can see it all go down in the video below, thanks to Grutman posting it on Instagram.

As soon as "Imma let you finish" escaped the rapper's mouth, the crowd roared and applauded him for mocking himself. For those who need a refresher, in 2009 during MTV's Video Music Awards, West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech after she was announced the winner for Best Female Video. In the middle of her speech, West crashed the stage, took the mic, and said, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!" It was the interruption heard 'round the world and still lives in infamy to this very day.

Unlike West's controversial past, which includes many Twitter rants that have placed him in hot water, it's clear that The Life of Pablo artist was just all about having a good time, which is what a wedding is all about.

Plus, the fact that he can make fun of himself says a lot. Clearly, his joke was a hit, because everyone loved it.
