Sometimes, words just aren't enough to truly convey how badly you're craving a venti mocha chip Frappuccino with extra whip, and Starbucks gets that. The coffee chain is here to answer our emoji-loving Millennial prayers with its own emoji keyboard that has a tiny, adorable pictogram for everyone, no matter what your go-to order looks like. What are Starbucks emojis? Summed up into one word, they are, quite simply, perfection.
The Starbucks emoji keyboard, available for both iPhone and Android, is here in time for summer, and the super cute symbols range from the practical to the whimsical. There's an emoji to represent pretty much every drink you could possibly order this season — from the classic Frappuccino to iced coffee to a Hibiscus Starbucks Refresher — plus a few that are just plain fun to use. A unicorn sipping on a whipped cream-heavy Frapp? It's just so cute, you guys.
There are also a few Starbucks variations of your favorite current emoji thrown into the mix for good measure as well. For instance, the red dancing lady emoji on your usual keyboard is replaced by a green dancing lady holding a frosty Frappuccino. The keyboard also comes with praise hands (because c'mon, it wouldn't be an emoji keyboard without it), only this time the praise hands frame a delicious iced beverage. Starbucks baristas, gold stars, clinking cups, and even cake pops round out your options.
Here's how it works: Hit up either the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store, and download the Starbucks Keyboard. If you have an iPhone, go into Settings, find Keyboard, and then opt to Add New Keyboard. Select Starbucks Keyboard, and you're good to go! They'll appear under the little globe icon when you go to send a text message. If you have an Android, go to Keyboard Settings to enable the Starbucks Keyboard. Easy, right?
Now that you have the Starbucks emojis in working order, what the heck do you do with them? Personally, I can see myself using them to send somewhat passive aggressive coffee orders to my coworkers as they're going on their daily afternoon Starbucks runs. In my head, it plays out like this: "Oh hold on, Kathryn is texting me. It looks like she wants us to pick her up an iced coffee."
And then it magically appears on my desk a few minutes later, because nobody can say no to my coffee demands if I'm making them using adorable Frappuccino emojis, right?
I can already tell the iced coffee emoji is going to become part of my heavy rotation, but I'm looking forward to using some of the other, less practical emojis as well. Here are a few of my favorites:
1. Frappuccino Praise Hands
It's almost like the praise hands emoji was meant to be paired with a Frappuccino all along. I mean, can you think of anything more worthy of praise?
2. Heart Frappuccino
I feel like this is equivalent to the heart-eyes emoji. Use this one as a not so subtle way to ask someone out on a coffee date.
3. Dancing Frappuccino Lady
Because if you're anything like me, Frappuccinos make you want to dance. Use this one to indicate you are ready to turn up (with caffeine) and party.
4. Frappuccino Unicorn
I'm honestly not really sure how to use this one yet out of context, but it makes me smile, so I'm just going to send it to everyone I know and see if it starts any fun conversations. Like, it kind of has to, right?
5. Frappuccino Toast
Because cheers, y'all.
