She's Engaged! Check Out Her Huge Ring!

Curb those Valentine’s hangovers to delight for the pop star with the big voice (and now a big rock to match it). Last night on Twitter, Christina Aguilera announced that she got engaged to Matthew Rutler, her boyfriend of three years.

Good for Xtina! Last V-Day, she and her ex husband Jordan Bratman, officially filed for divorced after being separated since October 2010 (the two had wed back in 2005). Shortly after, she met Rutler on the set of Burlesque (so something good came from that movie!), where he was working as a production assistant.

The Grammy-yielding “Say Something” singer (who, BTW, inspired me to don a sports bra as a shirt during my younger years because I, too, was a burgeoning genie in a bottle) lives with Rutler in an LA mansion that she bought for a heaping $10 million last April.

And she seems like she couldn’t be happier! In her tweet, she said, “he asked and I said….” alongside a picture of the two holding hands (and showing off that gorgeous ring) with a backdrop of a beach setting, because that is straight up Valentine’s Day. Pop stars get engaged on the beach on V-Day, not just at your favorite totally booked restaurant. But it’s all about the love, you know? She swooned over him on The Ellen DeGeneres back in 2010 saying that, "he's the love of my life, and I adore him." Pardon my musical reference from 1999, but that is, perhaps, what a girl wants, what a girl needs.
