Chyna Left Her Fans With Inspirational Words

On Thursday, the world received the truly tragic news that an icon, Chyna passed away at the age of 46. The wrestler and performer, born Joan Marie Laurer, was found dead in her apartment on Wednesday, and her cause of death is currently still unknown. A post on her website, TheRealChyna, informs fans that, "It is with deep sadness to [sic] inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the ninth wonder of the world has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her." While fans await more news about the tragedy, some comfort can be found in Chyna's Instagram, particularly one post from three days ago that is guaranteed to make you smile through your tears.

The photograph, which is a simple selfie of Chyna smiling into the camera, is absolutely beautiful, especially with the hazy filter layered over it that makes her look like something straight out of a dream. On top of that, she adds the caption, "Happy Sunday, my lovelies. I hope you all enjoy your day with your family. Be Happy, Love each other, and Live in Peace!" This is a beautiful message, not just to post out of the blue but to post in general. That Chyna wants us all to live in peace, and that she would offer such sage and gorgeous advice so soon before her unfortunate passing, is a bittersweet moment. Her words warm my heart, but the fact that we've lost such an icon is just so sad.

Chyna was a lot of things to a lot of people: a wrester, an entertainer, an icon, a role model. She will be missed, not only for her legacy and impact, but for her warm personality and the bonds that she has built in the wrestling world and beyond.
