Kanye's Wiz Khalifa Twitter Rant Lives On

by Mallory Carra

You can't deny that Kanye West is one of the most fascinating minds on Twitter. His rants often go viral and get the entire internet talking, including a recent one directed at Wiz Khalifa. It's so legendary that on Wednesday night's finale of Kocktails With Khloe, Kanye West says the Wiz Khalifa rant still inspires people to come up to him — especially one joke in particular. Show host (and West's sister-in-law) Khloe Kardashian brought up the subject of jokes not translating on Twitter to guests West, his wife (and Khloe's sister) Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, and John Legend. For Kanye, this was one joke that did not translate well.

Back in January, Kanye tweeted in now-deleted tweets as part of the rant: "You own waves? I own your child!" and "You wouldn’t have a child if it wasn’t for me." According to West, people still ask him if he ever apologized about that remark. The answer: No, because he was kidding. "I was a joking," West says on Kocktails With Khloe. "It was a really funny joke to me." But the public and the internet did not feel the same way, with many people bringing it up to him in person. Teigen remarks, "I feel like people think they'll be that one person to bring you down to Earth."

West admitted he doesn't check his Twitter mentions nor does he want any unsolicited advice. "There's nobody who's a previous Kanye West who's alive who can tell me how to be Kanye West," he says. "Don't give me advice unless I ask you, 'What do you think?' Because otherwise, just think that maybe I have thought about stuff. You think I think sometimes." And Kanye thinks of a lot. He's even thought about his future presidential term — don't forget, West pledged to run in 2020 — and he'd like to only serve for four years in the White House.

"He would be the dopest president," Khloe says. So true, Khloe.
